“RYOFU (Lu Bu)”
The year is 189. In the ancient Chinese province of Bingzhou, the top general, Lu Bu Fengxian, is making brilliant military gains. As a loyal retainer, he has gained the trust of his lord, Ding Yuan, but in his heart, Lu Bu has a sinister, burning fire of ambition. In the turmoil of battle, he manages to do away with Ding’s heir, Ding Cheng. Next, Lu Bu lies to Ding’s daughter, Xuelian, telling her that Ding Cheng begged him to look after the Ding family. He professes his love for her and asks her to marry him. However, Lu Bu’s ultimate goal is to seize control of Bingzhou for himself, and he begins plotting to conquer the entire country.
Meanwhile, in the capital city Luoyang, Dong Zhuo poisons Emperor Liu Bian and installs Liu Xie in his place. With no regard for the ancient order, Dong forces a revolution, and no one can stand up to him. Only Ding Yuan is able to denounce him at the Imperial Court. But when Dong draws his sword against Ding, Lu Bu steps in to defend him. Confronted by Lu Bu, said to be so powerful he can take on ten thousand warriors single-handedly, Dong puts away his sword. In the midst of it all, however, he has witnessed the bottomless pit of ambition in Lu Bu’s soul.
Finally, comes the day of Lu Bu and Xuelian’s wedding in Bingzhou. A poor boy makes his way into the wedding banquet, and the other guests try to get rid of him. Only Xuelian tries to rescue the child. Witnessing the kind spirit of his bride, a dormant emotion in Lu Bu’s soul begins to stir. It is then that Li Su, an aide to Dong Zhuo, appears before Lu Bu and whispers to him that if he murders the entire Ding clan, he will be welcomed into Dong’s army as a cavalry general and put in charge of 50,000 men. With Xuelian in his thoughts, Lu Bu refuses him, but then Li Su presents him with the legendary Red Hare, a steed that any soldier who has ever been on a battlefield aspires to. Lu Bu becomes obsessed with the temptation Dong has offered him, and memories of his childhood come flooding back. He was despised and oppressed and called a beast. His mother loved him tenderly, but she tragically lost her life. In agony, Lu Bu cries, “I was not born a human child. Now, I will become a beast stronger than any other and devour the entire world!”
In a sea of fire, Lu Bu murders the entire Ding family one after the other, cutting them down with his sword. Xuelian catches sight of Lu Bu drenched in blood. The young wife is astonished at the change in her husband. Lu Bu coldly declares to her that the man she has known is a complete lie. Then he puts his sword to her throat.
Lu Bu Fengxian is known as the most powerful general in history, called “the greatest man among men.” But he is also an irrational beast-like being who hates the world and is steeped in anger and sadness. Will his heart, which houses bestial insanity, enjoy even a moment of emotion filled with a warm, shining light?
“Crystal Palace”
The Crystal Palace evokes a medieval palace constructed entirely of crystal.
When a tempest strikes, the walls sheathed in ice-cold, unyielding crystal shatter, awakening a legendary princess who has slumbered for ages within, and a new era begins to unfold. Descending upon this scene is Meteor, the Knight of the Shooting Star. Having fallen in love with the beautiful princess, Meteor sets out on a journey through the stars alongside her, as she searches for the scattered crystals needed to restore the Crystal Palace, fragments now dispersed across the cosmos.
A gorgeous, spectacular fantasy show that showcases the many charms of Moon Troupe, centered on An Hozuki.
